I Discovered A New Notion Hack & It's A Gamechanger šŸ‘€

Your very own workflow automations builder, inside Notion, no external tools needed.

Hey Notion builder,

Notion’s latest update just unlocked an incredibly powerful new way to get things done in Notion (and at first, I didn’t even notice šŸ˜…).

I’m still scratching the surface with what can be built using this method, but I wanted to share it with you right away because it’s already changing how I get things done in Notion.

I’ve recorded a video walking through the method, you can watch that here:

The short version? I think I’ve discovered a way to build your own flexible workflow automations, directly inside Notion.

Without needing Zapier, Make or any external tool integrations. Just using Notion’s latest AI update.

Here’s how it works, there are 3 parts:

  • Inputs: Variable data that changes with each use of the workflow, such as customer emails, keywords, or article topics.

  • Instructions: Specific directives stored in an Instructions Database that guide Notion AI on how to process the inputs.

  • Background: Reference materials stored in a Docs Database that provide context and examples to enhance the AI's output.

That’s it. 3 simple databases, with a unique method of combining background context and instructions into repeatable workflows that can help you automate literally hundreds of tasks.

I really think the video is the best way to explain it, so if you watch just one Notion tutorial video this year, I’m hoping it will be this one.

Workflow Automations Are Now Included In Business OS

I’ve integrated this workflow automation setup directly into Business OS now, so you can start leveraging it directly out-of-the-box.

If you already have Business OS and want to upgrade to include this new Workflows Builder component, just reply to this message and I’ll send you the Component template to duplicate directly (currently available in the Components library, but only accessible with All Access or Landmark Lifetime).

This is probably the most excited I’ve been about discovering a new method of using Notion since building Flotion a couple of years ago. I hope you find it useful.

Best,

Gerrard
